{"id":23,"date":"2017-02-24T15:05:07","date_gmt":"2017-02-24T19:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aligncenter.org\/?page_id=23"},"modified":"2019-12-26T22:26:04","modified_gmt":"2019-12-27T05:26:04","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.aligncenter.org\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Align Center is a free newsletter curating thought provoking links, compelling writing and beautiful art that can be inspiring, educational and transformational.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nThere is no set schedule, each issue is released when ready (typically every 2-4 weeks) andcontains a trove of short and long reads, podcasts, videos and other quality works touching on topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>what it means to be human<\/li>\n<li>simplicity and healthy living<\/li>\n<li>love and relationships<\/li>\n<li>psychology and personal development<\/li>\n<li>science, nature and sustainability<\/li>\n<li>reality and perception<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the midst of these exciting yet challenging times, we have so much to learn from those that precede us. I am a son of immigrants, floating through life unawares for so many years, doing what was expected of me and no more. Those around would tell me I was doing great, yet I couldn&#8217;t shake this growing feeling of unease inside that I was unable to articulate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s until a friend introduced me to writers such as Eckhart Tolle and Don Miguel Ruiz, which opened my eyes and ignited a passion for worldly adventures, meeting incredible people and discovering alternative ways of living, and learning that in the end, we are all one, we all are striving for the same things. I&#8217;d soon quit my corporate job to become location independent, but then a sports injury led me to dive deep inwards, starting a journey into yoga, thai massage, psychology, and philosophy that would forever challenge my perceptions and notions of reality.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Align Center is meant to fill a void amidst an environment where those who SHOUT the loudest are rewarded, and hopefully can serve as a catalyst for connection, while offering the younger me an alternative to the television.
